PHÄNOMENTA

PHÄNOMENTA Lüdenscheid is a science centre – the exhibits are based on the motto ‘Research x Curiosity = Fun²’. The aim of the Phänomenta is to enable visitors to understand fundamental phenomena through their own actions. The Phänomenta in Lüdenscheid was founded in 1996 and is based on its role model in Flensburg. Natural sciences, with a focus on physics and technology, are to be experienced and understood through experimentation and trial and error. The exhibits are therefore interactive and designed in such a way that they do not anticipate any answers. The focus is on understanding with all the senses. The Science Center is directly adjacent to the city centre and the Lüdenscheid railway station site, which has developed into a place of learning and study. The railway station site and the Phänomenta are directly connected by a pedestrian bridge. The tower, which houses the Foucault pendulum, was opened on 8 May 2015 and has become a landmark in the city.
