Annika Hippler choreographs light events with materials such as paper, mirror foil or textile fabrics, with transparent or semi-transparent media such as acrylic, glass or water and with analog motors and frequency generators. She develops three-dimensional reliefs, objects and installations, which she manipulates in their appearance by laser light, often in combination with fluorescent pigments. She creates compositions that can be drawings and paintings, sculptures and installations and that can be assigned to concrete art. She shows them in white cubes as well as in found interior and exterior spaces, where she always experiments with the interplay of natural light and artistic intervention.
