HAMBRE, HUMANIDAD Y SOLIDARIDAD
In 2020, the Chilean art and design studio Delight Lab projected words such as humanity and solidarity onto a high-rise building in Santiago de Chile during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, these words were outshone by a large spotlight from a car without a licence plate in the presence of the police and were therefore censored.
DELIGHT LAB
Delight Lab is an art and design studio specializing in light, poetics, sound, and space to create immersive experiences that foster reflection and contemplation. Their interventions, performances, and site-specific works address environmental, political, and social injustices, often taking place in public spaces and nature. Their aesthetic is minimalist, ephemeral, and phantasmagoric, emphasizing the transient yet impactful nature of their art.
Deeply committed to social justice and environmental advocacy, Delight Lab views art as a vital and free expression that should be respected and accessible. Their luminous interventions use light as a medium to project messages of reflection through words and poetry, without damaging the surfaces they illuminate. They believe in an art that extends beyond exclusive circles, reaching broader audiences and influencing societal change. Their work aligns with contemporary social and environmental movements, envisioning a more just and dignified future.
