25 Years of Light Art in the Public Space

From March 11–20, 2027, the 10th edition of the LICHTROUTEN light and media art festival will take place in Lüdenscheid. Art projects will be created throughout the city, exploring light as a natural, technical, and digital material and medium.

REAL TIME

The installations of LICHTROUTEN 2027 present light as a threshold material between the analog and digital spheres. On display is a variety of art forms that address the conditions of seeing, the process of perception, and the construction of reality.

OPEN DOORS

The LICHTROUTEN venues include urban landmarks such as City Hall and churches, all art and cultural institutions, as well as alternative spaces. In collaboration with a network of local businesses and expert partners, a wide range of light and media art projects is being realized. The event is hosted by the Lüdenscheid City Marketing Association (LSM).

ART FOR EVERYONE

More than 50,000 visitors explore the city along the LICHTROUTEN. The majority of visitors come from the city and the region, while a significant number travel from all over the world.
